It looks like it’s time to say goodbye…

A very different, and a very sad type of post for us, but it looks like it might be time for The Postgrad Chronicles to come to an unfortunate and unexpected end.

We recently received our website renewal invoice and due to an unfortunate rise in the costs, and a lack of funds for a small history page such as ours, it is looking likely that we will have to make the decision to not renew the website and unfortunately to call it quits on The Postgrad Chronicles. We are looking into a few last ditch effort options to try and save the site, but at this point in time it feels like it is unfortunately the beginning of the end.

At this time most of all we want to thank you, our readers and especially our subscribers, for the amazing numbers we’ve seen on this site over the years. We’ve enjoyed sharing our thoughts and research on medieval history with you all, we’ve enjoyed creating content in a fun but academic fashion, we’ve loved being able to do book giveaways and fun competitions, and we’ve enjoyed seeing our work read by eager historians all around the globe! Thank you for the views, the comments, the interaction, and the engagement over the years.

If by chance you happen to be reading this and thinking ‘I would love to help’ – there is the option to join an amazingly generous few who have contributed donations in an effort to save the page and keep us running. If you would like to help you can make a small donation on our PayPal at this link, or you can become a regular helper over at our Patreon. Even the smallest donations help and could add up and help us save this site!

Thank you for your support and engagement,
Keep reading!

    • Hi Michael, WordPress do have the free option but unfortunately the way our site is built it would force us to lose the majority of the functions and set ups we currently have in place.
We are still looking into a few options and have had some really lovely donation promises so there is a good chance we can save the site at this point!

  1. Hi there, from New Orleans.

It’s close to 10 yrs ago I first answered your offer to join the mailing list and I’ve read everything at least once.

Among the overwhelming qty of excrement that is the current internet, it’s a sorry day and loss to all that your site should up sticks.

Perhaps some viking porn might help preserve your excellent repository for future generations? Cartoon reenactments of Murdered Kings and exiled Saints surviving just in the nick of time.

    Good luck, anyway.

PS A skinny free site would be better than vanished? BRgds WalterT

Thanks so much for your comment and your support! Really appreciate the dedication over the last 10 years, the generous donation, and I can also very happily add that thanks to the generosity of many people such as yourself, we will be making a very happy announcement very soon that we will be able to save the site!
      Thank you again.
